Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurates mega credit cum awareness camp for aspiring entrepreneurs | KNO

KATHUA, JUNE 16 (KNO) : Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region, Prime Minister Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Space Dr. Jitendra Singh today inaugurated mega credit cum awareness camp here. Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rohit Khajuria, SSP, Kathua Shridhar Patil, Executive President, J&K Bank R.K Chhibber, Zonal Head, J&K Bank Jammu Zone Sunil Gupta, Zonal Head, J&K Bank Narjay Gupta, ADC, ACR, representatives of KVIB, bankers and large number of beneficiaries were present during the inauguration ceremony. The camp attracted huge response and witnessed a huge turnout of businessmen, emerging start-up owners, aspiring entrepreneurs and industrialists.

At the outset, Dr Singh said that financial inclusion of the last man standing in the queue of our socio-economic strata is the need of the hour for availing the benefits of various centrally and state sponsored schemes through DBT. He further said the development of Kathua has become envious for other districts as number of corner stone projects were sanctioned only for the district. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment of formulating pro-poor welfare schemes, Dr. Singh said that country’s progress lie in the progress of every state. So, it is the duty of every stakeholder to contribute positively in his state’s progress to make India - a developed nation, he added. Dr. Singh informed that there is no dearth of funds for development of J&K as the central government has recently sanctioned Rs. 3,700 crore under PMGSY for J&K out of which Rs. 1700 crore would be spent in Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency.

He further divulged that Rs. 2,000 crore would be spent under CRF for major road projects in Jammu and Kashmir. For mitigating the miseries of border residents during cross-border shelling, the Union MoS informed that tenders for construction of individual as well as community bunkers has already been floated and DPR of Border Bhawan has been prepared by the concerned agency. Dr. Singh also underlined several central schemes aimed for the benefit of common masses including PM Jan Dhan Yojana, BBBP, SBM, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, StartUp India, MUDRA Yojana besides others. Elaborating several schemes, Jitendra Singh said that 5000 beneficiaries were enrolled for MUDRA Yojana in Kathua, thus can use an amount of Rs. 131 crore. He also highlighted good work of Kathua district administration under BBBP for which Kathua was also mentioned by PM Modi in his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
